Managing complex processes: the experience of Ener2Crowd

ENER2CROWD'S EXPERIENCE WITH AUTOMYO

Today we have the pleasure of hosting on our blog the story of a beautiful Italian reality. It is called Ener2crowd and it is a startup founded by 4 Italian engineers.
Ener2Crowd is a Peer to Peer Lending platform that aims to attract capital to finance projects that benefit the environment.

Let’s find out together with Paolo Alberico (Head of Investment Operations and Database Management at Ener2Crowd) what the problems were before the adoption of Automyo.

How did you manage your workflow before Automyo?

“It was completely manual. We had to download huge Excel files from our databases and filter them by specific characteristics related to the task we had to perform (e.g., sending an e-mail to a certain category of users).

In addition, we often had to make updates in real time. We had to monitor some sections of the platform more than once a day for notifications that the system did not register.

Not only did we have to have some familiarity with Excel-since data collection and statistical calculations were all processed on Excel-but we also risked constantly making mistakes because of the repetitiveness of our operations and the amount of records and data we handle.”

What are the challenges you have faced?

“We lost a lot of time repeating the same procedures from the beginning, without being able to make even partial changes, because of the large number of new data being added in a short period of time, such as new registered users or new daily activities.

The risk of errors or omissions was very high and difficult to predict.

In addition, we had to have a good memory to remember all the steps needed to correlate the various tabs in the database and get the data we needed. For real-time updates, we could only hope that they would not happen at critical times, forcing us to continuously check certain sections to implement the necessary changes.”

What are the activities you automate today?

“The main flow we use most often is to fish some non-sensitive information directly from our customers’ databases. These are collected with specific criteria and fed into an external CRM to manage email marketing activities (security is a priority here, since we are talking about investments).

Another flow allows us to assign bonuses in real time to registered users for future investment campaigns (with wishlist entries based on a certain identified source or action). This way, we did not have to create a wishlist, we did not risk making mistakes, and it is faster than writing the list manually.

We recently designed a flow that allows us to issue more invoices for different customers at the same time.”

What are the advantages of Automyo?

You can get aggregated data from the various databases for things we didn’t consider before, due to lack of time or the large amount of data to handle

“Definitely the reduction in the workload required to carry out the activities I mentioned earlier.

The speed of task completion is another great benefit of automation with the Automyo solution.”

Gestion

“Because it is incredibly flexible, it is also possible to get aggregated data from the various databases for things that we had not considered before, due to lack of time or the large amount of data to handle.

It’s also quite fun to use and find out how many things you can use it for.”

Paolo, what are the final thoughts on your experience?

“We are incredibly pleased with the new opportunities provided by Automyo.

It allows us to eliminate repetitive tasks and focus our attention on activities that add more value to our business.

It’s always nice to talk to customer support, the team is always nice, and constantly learning new features to make it easier to manage what before seemed like an inevitable waste of company time.”
